28 Years Later (MA 15+)

28 Years Later movie poster

Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle and Academy Award-nominated writer Alex Garland reunite for 28 Years Later, a terrifying new story set in the world created by 28 Days Later.

It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

Cast: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O'Connell

Director: Danny Boyle

★★★★★ "One of the most triumphant ever revitalisations of a franchise that transcends the idea of mere genre." METRO

★★★★★ "This transfixingly nasty zombie horror sequel, starring Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes, is Danny Boyle’s best film in 15 years" DAILY TELEGRAPH UK

★★★★★ "[The actors'] chops alongside Boyle's direction, Garland's script and Anthony Dod Mantle's cinematography will leave you feeling somewhat sledgehammered by the end of this epic rollercoaster." DAILY EXPRESS

★★★★★ "The breathtaking and gritty camera work is backed by a thumbing soundtrack, cracking script and some mighty fine performances from some of our best actors." SUN UK

★★★★★ "28 Years Later is a reinvention of the trilogy. It dares to evolve when most sequels retreat. It’s a rare horror film that provokes as much as it terrifies, asking not just how we survive the end of the world, but what kind of people we become afterward." HEYUGUYS

★★★★★ "28 Years Later isn't just one of the best horror movies of the year, but also one of the best legacy sequels of all time." DISCUSSING FILM

★★★★★ "Nothing in 2025 has been as good as this supercharged, shuddering blast." EVENING STANDARD
